The 34th International Conference on Metallurgy and Materials METAL 2025 was held in Brno on 21-23 May 2025 . A total of 64 lectures and 85 posters were prepared for 170 participants from 27 countries.

The conference was opened by Professor Stanislaw Turczyn from AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow with a lecture on Rolling as the important manufacture’s method of high quality steel products.

The second plenary lecture was given by Associate Professor Karel Saksl from the Institute of Materials Research, SAS, in Košice. His lecture was devoted to the topic of High-entropy alloys and oxides for energy storage applications.

However, as usual, the thematic scope of the conference lectures was much broader. Researchers presented innovations not only in the fields of iron, steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals and alloys, metal forming and surface engineering, but also in economics and metallurgical production management.

The accompanying exhibitions of the sponsoring companies were also very enriching. The main sponsors of this year's conference were Messer Technogas s.r.o. and Struers GmbH, whose representatives also presented two very interesting lectures. Other exhibitors this year included Anamet s.r.o., Elementar Analysensysteme GmbH, and KEYENCE International.

The award for the best poster went to Michaela ŠTAMBORSKÁ from the Institute of Materials and Machine Mechanics of the SAS in Bratislava.

The next 35th edition of the METAL conference will take place in May 2026.
