Abstract: For cooling tubes manufactured of aluminized carbon steel with inner surface welded longitudinally the question arises if the anticorrosion quality of Al coating produced on external surface can be influenced by the presence of the weld area on internal surface. In fact this quality is related to Al coating ability to prevent or at least to inhibit the corrosion process occurring during penetration of coating by water environment to the steel-coating interface. Abstract: This paper tries to determine the possibilities of application of the high temperature oxidation of cast iron as a way of surface preparation before hot-dip zinc galvanizing and presents also results of corrosion resistance tests of zinc coatings created after high temperature oxidation of grey cast iron (with flake graphite). Research was focused on elements of overhead power lines - the jaw-chuck (screw-bow). [..] Read more

Abstract: The generally applied requirements on lowering of emission production in the field of power industry have led, among others, into the application of low-emission combustion process of coal fired power plants. Besides the emissions reduction, this process has led to an increase of boilers parts corrosion degradation due to the reducing atmosphere in low-emission boilers, responsible for sulphide corrosion and molten salt attack. Abstract: In this study, special ceramic coatings were prepared on low carbon steel (1.0060 – EN 10027-2) via the plasma spraying technique using a WSP®-H plasma generator with output of up to 40 kg/h of aluminum oxide. Corundum coatings were deposited directly on the surface of steel plungers equipped with an anti-corrosion interlayer of zinc phosphate. [..] Read more
