The influence of heat treatment on the microstructure, mechanical and sliding wear properties of Hastelloy C-276 HVOF sprayed coatings was evaluated. The applied furnace heat treatment modified the coatings microstructure, leading to precipitation hardening and oxidation of inter-splat boundaries, but had a negative effect on the sliding wear resistance. The laser heat treatment eliminated the intersplat boundaries and porosity. The obtained dendritic microstructure have lower microhardness compare to as sprayed coating, which implies higher toughness possibly being beneficial to avoid the brittle fracture during wear loading.Keywords: Hastelloy C-276, HVOF, laser remelting, heat treatment, mechanical properties
